“Harnessing mechanistic science to drive performance”

The Australian Poultry Science Symposium (APSS) is the premier avian science conference in Australasia and attracts delegates from right across the country and around the World. Each year (usually in February), APSS is collaboratively organised by the University of Sydney – Poultry Research Foundation and the World’s Poultry Science Association – Australian Branch, with an organising committee also assembled to include key industry stakeholders. The symposium is renowned for is vast array of industry relevant science and also for the excellent opportunities it affords the next generation of poultry scientists.
APSS 2027 marks the 38th edition of the symposium, and after all the positive feedback from our attendees, it will again be held at The University of Sydney Business School – Belinda Hutchinson Building (H70). The organising committee has decided to maintain the exclusively in-person format for next year’s event.
The official scientific program will begin Monday morning , with check-in opening from 7:00 AM 1st February 2027
The central theme of APSS 2027 will be “Harnessing mechanistic science to drive performance.” As always, the symposium will showcase an exceptional line-up of local and international speakers, carefully selected by the organising committee to share their expert insights on the most pressing and forward-thinking topics in the poultry industry.
We warmly welcome researchers from around the globe to submit and present a wide variety of scientific papers rich in industry-relevant content and pioneering research.
Our vibrant social program will feature highlights such as the Mentoring Meet and Greet, Monday Evening Poster Session, and Tuesday Night Symposium Dinner. These events, along with generous lunch and tea breaks, create valuable opportunities for networking—something APSS is proudly known for.
