The AgriFutures Chicken Meat Consortium – Nutrition, Gut Health and Environment is a multi-institutional and multi-national collaboration to grow the long-term prosperity of the Australian chicken meat industry from the nutritional strategy to optimise gut health, animal welfare, and sustainability outcomes. Involving 50 scientists, 19 early-mid career researchers, 14 PhD students, and eight international research institutions including some top scientists in the field, the Consortium will help pave the future for chicken meat production.
The Consortium is an initiative of the AgriFutures Chicken Meat Program. The scientific program is led by The University of Queensland, in partnership with The University of Sydney, Central Queensland University, Massey University, and the Queensland Department of Primary Industries. In addition, five global industry partners including Aviagen, DSM-Firmenich, Lallemand, Lucta, and Eurolysine (formally Metex Noovistago), as well as Poultry Research Foundation and World Poultry Science Association New Zealand Branch are supporting the Consortium.
